Compliance and consent
Rhody Reviews is a business line of Own The Box Marketing, LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company. Rhody Reviews provides a review-management platform that, on behalf of a local service business, sends review-request text messages to that business's own recent customers. This page explains, transparently, how consent is collected and where the governing documents live.
What Rhody Reviews is
Rhody Reviews is a software platform operated by Own The Box Marketing, LLC. Local service businesses (for example landscapers, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and dentists) use it to invite their own recent customers to leave a review. Each business sends from a dedicated phone number, is identified by name in every message, and provides the customer relationship. Rhody Reviews is the platform; the business is the sender.
How consent is collected (confirmed double opt-in)
- At the point of service, the business presents an optional, unchecked SMS consent box alongside the full disclosure. The box is never pre-checked. The booking, invoice, and service are completed whether or not it is checked. Consent is never a condition of any purchase or service.
- Only if the customer checks the box, Rhody Reviews sends one confirmation text: "Reply YES to confirm you would like review-request texts from [Business] via Rhody Reviews. Reply STOP to opt out."
- Only after the customer replies YES are any review-request messages sent. No YES reply means no messages are ever sent. The YES is timestamped, audit-logged, and retained for at least four years as the consent of record.

Disclosures present at opt-in
Message frequency varies and is capped at three review-request messages per service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time; STOP permanently suppresses the number. Reply HELP for help. Consent is optional and not a condition of any purchase or service. Messages are sent only from a dedicated number assigned to the sending business, only during 8am to 9pm in the recipient's local time. There is no promotional or marketing content. Numbers are never sold or shared for marketing.
No review-gating
All opted-in customers are messaged the same way, regardless of anticipated sentiment. Rhody Reviews does not screen, filter, or suppress review requests based on expected rating. This is a permanent policy consistent with the FTC Trade Regulation Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
