1.1 This page describes the Rhody Reviews Review Requests SMS program. Rhody Reviews is a software-as-a-service product operated by Own The Box Marketing LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company with its principal place of business at 29 Hunters Ct, Saunderstown, RI 02874.
1.2 The program sends review-request and follow-up text messages from a local business to that business's own recent customers. The purpose of the program is to invite a customer who recently received a service to share a review of that service.
2.1 Messages are sent by the individual local business you hired (for example a landscaper, plumber, or dentist), identified by name in each message, through the Rhody Reviews platform. Each business sends from a dedicated phone number assigned to that one business.
2.2 Rhody Reviews provides the messaging platform. The business is the sender. Each message identifies the business by name and notes that it is sent via Rhody Reviews.
3.1 The program sends two types of messages: an initial review-request message, and a follow-up review-request message. There is no promotional or marketing content of any kind. Messages are tied only to a recent service the recipient received from the business that is sending them.
4.1 Opting in is a two-step confirmed double opt-in. Step one is an optional consent box at the point of service. When you complete or book a service with a business that uses Rhody Reviews, the business collects your mobile number on its intake form, invoice, or booking confirmation. Separately from that, you are shown a disclosure next to an unchecked consent box. You may check the box or leave it blank. The form, the booking, the invoice, and the service are all completed either way. The consent box is never pre-checked, and leaving it unchecked blocks nothing.
4.2 The optional disclosure next to the box reads, with the business substituting its own name for "[Business]": "I agree that [Business] may send me a confirmation text and, after I reply YES, review-request text messages via Rhody Reviews. Consent is optional and not a condition of any purchase or service. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Terms: https://rhodyreviews.com/sms-terms Privacy: https://rhodyreviews.com/privacy".
4.3 Step two is a confirmation text that you must answer. Only if you check the optional box, Rhody Reviews sends you a single confirmation text: "Reply YES to confirm you would like review-request texts from [Business] via Rhody Reviews. Reply STOP to opt out." After you check the optional consent box, you will receive a single confirmation text. You must reply YES to that text before any review-request messages are sent. If you do not reply YES, you will receive no further messages.
4.4 Your YES reply is the consent of record. It is recorded with a timestamp and retained for at least four (4) years. No review-request message is ever sent before you reply YES.
5.1 Message frequency varies. Messages are tied to a recent service and are capped at three review-request messages per service.
6.1 Message and data rates may apply. Rhody Reviews and the sending business do not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may apply its standard message and data charges.
7.1 Reply STOP to cancel. A STOP reply immediately and permanently suppresses your number, and you will receive no further messages from that business through Rhody Reviews. Other opt-out keywords including STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, and OPTOUT are also honored.
7.2 Reply HELP for help. A HELP reply returns the program and contact information. Other help keywords including INFO are also honored.
7.3 You may also contact Rhody Reviews directly through the support chat at rhodyreviews.com, by email at [email protected], or by phone at (401) 227-5020, for any question about the program or to request that your number be removed.

8.1 Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of any purchase. You may decline to opt in and still receive the same products and services from the business.
9.1 All customers who opt in are messaged in the same way, regardless of the sentiment the business anticipates. Rhody Reviews does not screen, filter, or suppress review requests based on whether a customer is expected to leave a positive or negative review. This is a permanent product policy consistent with the Federal Trade Commission's Trade Regulation Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
10.1 Messages are sent only from the dedicated phone number assigned to the business you hired, and only during 8am to 9pm in your local time.
