Google posts

Stay active on Google. Get found by more customers.

Most Google Business Profiles go quiet a week after setup. Rhody Reviews keeps yours working. Write the post once, pick the day and the time, and it publishes to your profile on its own while you're out on a job.

The short answer

Google posts let you publish updates, offers, events, and alerts straight to your Google Business Profile on a schedule you set. Write the post once, pick the day and time, add a Book or Call now button, and Rhody Reviews publishes it for you. An active, well-reviewed profile is what local search looks at, so your profile keeps working while you're on a job.

How google posts works

1

Write the post

Pick a type (update, offer, event, or alert), write it in plain language, and add a Book, Call now, or Learn more button.

2

Pick the day and time

Schedule it for whenever your customers are looking. Line several up at once so a busy week never goes quiet.

3

Rhody Reviews publishes it

It goes to your Google Business Profile on schedule, with no reminder for you to ignore. The queue shows you what posted and what is still coming.

Why an active Google profile is worth the trouble

Think about how the job actually comes in. Somebody's water heater quits, they pull out their phone, and they get three local companies in a little box at the top of the results. They tap one. That's the whole decision, and it takes about eight seconds.

What they see in those eight seconds is your star rating, your review count, and whether your profile looks like a business that's still open. A profile with a post from this week reads differently than one whose last activity was the day it was set up. You can't control the water heater. You can control what's sitting there when they look.

Google says local results are ranked on relevance, distance, and prominence. Source: Google Business Profile Help, "Improve your local ranking on Google". Distance you can't change and relevance comes from your categories and services, so prominence is the lever. Google's own guidance there is that your review count and score factor into local ranking, and that a complete, current profile is easier to match to the right searches.

What you can post

The four Google post types and when to use each
Post typeGood for
UpdateA job you just wrapped, a seasonal reminder, a quick tip. The everyday one.
OfferA seasonal special or a discount window you want in front of people who are already looking.
EventAnything with a start and an end: an open house, a demo day, a sale.
AlertA schedule change or something urgent your customers need to know today.

Every post can carry a button, and the choices are Book, Call now, Learn more, Sign up, Shop, and Order online. For most trades the useful one is Call now, because the entire point is turning someone who found you into someone who's dialing.

How the schedule works

You write a post and pick a day and an hour. That's the end of your involvement. Rhody Reviews holds it in the queue and publishes it to your Google Business Profile at that time, whether you're on a roof, under a sink, or asleep. The queue shows what posted and what's still coming, so you can sit down on a slow Sunday, line up the next couple of weeks, and forget about it.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Posting to Google isn't hard, it's just one more thing to remember on a day when the van broke down. Every owner who's let a profile go stale knows the reason wasn't difficulty. Scheduling ahead is what turns "I should post more" into something that actually happens.

About rankings, plainly

Nobody can promise you a spot in the map pack. Google doesn't sell one, and any marketing company that guarantees you a position is either guessing or hoping you won't check. What Rhody Reviews can honestly tell you is this: it keeps your profile active, it keeps new reviews coming in, and it makes sure every review gets answered. Those are the things Google points to when it explains how local results work. Do them consistently and you've given yourself the best shot available. That's the honest version, and it's the one worth building on.

Frequently asked questions

What can I post to my Google Business Profile?
Four kinds of post: an update, an offer, an event, or an alert. Each one can carry a button, and your choices are Book, Call now, Learn more, Sign up, Shop, and Order online. Google caps the post text at 1,500 characters, and Rhody Reviews tells you before you go over rather than after Google rejects it.
Do the posts publish on their own?
Yes. You write the post and set the day and time, and Rhody Reviews publishes it to your profile for you. You do not have to open the app that morning or remember to hit send. The queue shows you what already posted and what is still scheduled.
Will posting get me into the map pack?
No one can guarantee that, and any company that does is telling you something they cannot deliver. What posting does is keep your profile active and current, which Google asks owners to do. Google says local results are ranked on relevance, distance, and prominence, and prominence is the part you can build, through your reviews and a profile that stays complete and current.
Does it post replies to my reviews automatically too?
Replies work differently on purpose. Rhody Reviews drafts an on-brand reply in your voice and puts it in your inbox, and it posts once you approve it. Your name is on the response, so a person signs off on it every time. Scheduled Google posts are the ones that publish on their own, because you wrote and approved them when you scheduled them.
